Our massage therapist, Fiona McKee, holds a Diploma in Remedial Massage from the NSW School of Therapeutic Massage. She is a Member of the Association of Massage Therapists (AMT) and has over 20 years experience. Fiona employs the following massage techniques in her practice:
Uses smooth, gliding strokes to help you relax. It can stimulate circulation and improve quality of sleep. Fiona's expertise in aromatherapy oils enhances the benefits of relaxation massage.
Deeper, more therapeutic technique often used in treatment of specific injury or complaint, increases range of movement. Decreases pain and improves tone and function of muscles. Promotes circulation allowing faster healing of muscles and other soft tissues.
Chinese Acupressure Massage
Acupressure is an ancient Chinese healing art using the fingers to gradually press key healing points (meridans), which stimulate the body's natural self-curative abilities. When these points are stimulated, they release muscular tension, promote blood circulation and the body's life force to aid healing. Enjoy the refreshing feeling of toning up the meridians and energy channels on face, head, neck and shoulders.
Infant Massage Instruction
Fiona, a certified Infant Massage Instructor with Infant Massage Australia, also offers infant massage instruction to parents on either an individual or group basis. Infant massage is a wonderful way for parents to express love through touch to their infants. It can promote well-being and enhance bonding between the caregiver and his/her infant. Infant massage promotes infant emotional development. It may also assist a child to settle, reduce crying and relieve problems such as wind, colic, constipation, reflux and eczema. There is some evidence that infant massage helps reduce post-natal depression.
